2020 Scholarship Program 

 

Education is a powerful agent of change, it improves health and livelihoods, contributes to social stability and drives long-term economic growth.  Thanks to generous gifts from passionate donors who believe in the value of education, the Community Foundation of Harford County is accepting applications for the following scholarships.  IMPORTANT:  Students applying for multiple scholarships will need to check the eligibility and required documentation for each scholarship before beginning the application process.  The application period is open through March 1, 2020.

 

Academic Legacy Elementary Educator Scholarship – $1,500

To encourage and assist high school seniors and undergraduate college students to pursue careers in elementary education.  For eligibility and required documentation click here.


Academic Legacy Engineering Scholarship – $1,500

To encourage and assist a high school senior in pursuit of an education in engineering. For eligibility and required documentation click here.


Academic Legacy Engineering Scholarship – $2,500

To encourage and assist college undergraduates of an education in engineering.  For eligibility and required documentation click here.


Academic Legacy Secondary Educator Scholarship – $1,500

To encourage and assist high school seniors, college freshmen, sophomores and juniors to pursue careers in secondary education. For eligibility and required documentation click here.


Academic Legacy Women’s Science, Engineering and Math Scholarship – $1,500

To encourage and assist female high school seniors in the top 25 percent of their class in terms of SAT/GPA to pursue an education in science, engineering and math. For eligibility and required documentation click here.


Academic Legacy Women’s Science, Engineering and Math Scholarship – $2,500

To encourage and assist female college undergraduates in completion of an education in science, engineering and math. For eligibility and required documentation click here.


Charles John Eshinsky Memorial Scholarship -$500

Offered to a student pursuing a post-secondary degree in science, technology, engineering and/or math (STEM). For eligibility and required documentation click here.

Colin J. Haller Scholarship – $1,000

Offered to a student pursuing a health-related bachelor’s degree to include, but not limited to, nursing, premedical, psychology, sports medicine, or pharmaceuticals. For eligibility and required documentation click here.

Edward V. Goetz Environmental Science Scholarship – $1,000

Offered to a student committed to attending an accredited environmental science program including but not limited to geology, ecology, natural science, botany, biology, zoology, ornithology, habitat restoration, environmental/wildlife management, forestry. Richard O. Cook VMD Scholarship – $500

Offered to a worthy senior in the Harford Tech Agribusiness/Animal Science Program who demonstrates great personal character, passion for animals, and a dedication to pursue a career in animal studies. For eligibility and required documentation click here.


William A. Humbert Memorial Scholarship – $5,000

Offered to a graduate of a Harford County high school who is currently a college junior or college senior majoring in music or music education, or is in a graduate program. For eligibility and required documentation click here.

Capt. Maria J. Ortiz – $1,000

Offered to a graduate of a Harford County high school who is currently pursuing an education in nursing.(Applications for this scholarship are being accepted by Harford Community College)
