2023 SCHOLARSHIP OVERVIEW
2023 SCHOLARSHIPS WILL OPEN ON FEBRUARY 1, 2023

Academic Legacy Elementary Educator Scholarship - $1,500
To encourage and assist high school seniors and undergraduate college students to pursue careers in elementary education.
Qualifications: Applicant must: (1) be a current high school senior or college freshman, sophomore or junior; (2) be pursuing a career in elementary education; (3) currently attending or have graduated from a high school in Harford County, Maryland; (4) have a current minimum GPA of 3.0; and (5) be pursuing a bachelor’s degree.

Academic Legacy Engineering Scholarship - $1,500
To encourage and assist a high school senior in pursuit of an education in engineering.
Qualifications: Applicant must: (1) be a high school senior; (2) be pursuing a career in science, engineering or math; (3) currently attending a high school in Harford County, Maryland; (4) have a current minimum GPA of 3.0; and (5) be pursuing a bachelor’s degree.

Academic Legacy Engineering Scholarship - $2,500
To encourage and assist college undergraduates of an education in engineering.
Qualifications: Applicant must: (1) be a college undergraduate; (2) be completing an education in science, engineering or math; (3) have attended a high school in Harford County, Maryland; (4) have a current minimum GPA of 3.0; and (5) be pursuing a bachelor’s degree.

Academic Legacy Secondary Educator Scholarship - $1,500
To encourage and assist high school seniors, college freshmen, sophomores and juniors to pursue careers in secondary education.
Qualifications: pplicant must: (1) be a high school senior or college freshman, sophomore or junior; (2) be pursuing a career in secondary education; (3) currently attending or have graduated from a high school in Harford County, Maryland; (4) have a current minimum GPA of 3.0; and (5) be pursuing a bachelor’s degree.

Academic Legacy Women’s Science, Engineering and Math Scholarship - $1,500
To encourage and assist female high school seniors in the top 25 percent of their class in terms of SAT/GPA to pursue an education in science, engineering and math.
Qualifications: Applicant must: (1) be a female high school senior; (2) be pursuing a career in science, engineering or math; (3) currently attending a high school in Harford County, Maryland; (4) have a current minimum GPA of 3.0; and (5) be pursuing a bachelor’s degree.

Academic Legacy Women’s Science, Engineering and Math Scholarship - $2,500
To encourage and assist female college undergraduates in completion of an education in science, engineering and math.
Qualifications: Applicant must: (1) be a female college undergraduate; (2) be completing an education in science, engineering or math; (3) have attended a high school in Harford County, Maryland; (4) have a current minimum GPA of 3.0; and (5) be pursuing a bachelor’s degree.

Charles John Eshinsky Memorial Scholarship - $500
Offered to a student pursuing a post-secondary degree in science, technology, engineering and/or math (STEM).
Qualifications: Applicant must: (1) be a current high school senior; (2) be pursuing a career in science, engineering or math; (3) currently attending a high school in Harford County, Maryland; (4) have a current minimum GPA of 2.0; and (5) be pursuing a post-secondary degree in STEM.

Colin J. Haller Scholarship - $1,000
Offered to a student pursuing a health-related bachelor’s degree to include, but not limited to, nursing, premedical, psychology, sports medicine, or pharmaceuticals.
Qualifications: Applicant must: (1) be a current high school senior; (2) currently attending a high school in Harford County, Maryland; (4) have a current minimum GPA of 3.0; (4) enrolled in or completed a minimum of one AP class; and (5) be pursuing a health-related bachelor’s degree.

Edward V. Goetz Environmental Science Scholarship - $1,000
Offered to a student committed to attending an accredited environmental science program including but not limited to geology, ecology, natural science, botany, biology, zoology, ornithology, habitat restoration, environmental/wildlife management, forestry.
Qualifications: Applicant must: (1) be a current high school senior; (2) currently attending a high school in Harford County, Maryland; (3) have a current minimum GPA of 2.0; and (4) be pursuing an advanced Environmental Science degree.

Fielder Family Scholarship Fund for Education - $1,000
To encourage and assist high school seniors to pursue careers in education.
Qualifications: Applicant must: (1) be a current high school senior; (2) be pursuing a career in education; (3) currently attending or have graduated from a high school in Harford County, Maryland; (4) have a current minimum GPA of 3.5; and (5) be pursuing a bachelor’s degree.

Richard O. Cook VMD Scholarship - $500
Offered to a senior in the Agribusiness/Animal Science Program who demonstrates great personal character, passion for animals, and a dedication to pursue a career in animal studies.
Qualifications: Applicant must: (1) be a current high school senior enrolled in the Agribusiness/ Animal Science Program at Harford Technical School in Harford County, MD; (2) have a current minimum GPA of 3.0 including first semester of senior year; (3) have a 3.5 GPA or higher in the technical program for the seven semesters of study; (4) be pursuing a four-year degree; (5) be committed to an animal science or a closely related field of study; and (6) if awarded, must attend the scholarship presentation at the Harford Tech FFA Annual Parent-Member Banquet in May.

William A. Humbert Memorial Scholarship - $5,000
Offered to a graduate of a Harford County high school who is currently a college junior or college senior majoring in music or music education, or is in a graduate program.
Qualifications: Applicant must: (1) be a current college junior or senior or graduate student; (2) have attended a high school in Harford County, Maryland; and (3) be a music or music education major in instrumental music; and (4) if awarded, must perform with the Bel Air Community Band or Susquehanna Symphony Orchestra at the Summer Concert Series held at the William A. Humbert Amphitheater in Bel Air, MD, in June 2021, and attend rehearsals(s) as requested by ensemble director.

Capt. Maria J. Ortiz - $1,000
Offered to a graduate of a Harford County high school who is currently pursuing an education in nursing. (Applications for this scholarship are being accepted by Harford Community College)
