Harford County has a growing epidemic of substance abuse, including facing an increase in the state average rates for the use of alcohol, marijuana, and other non-prescribed drugs, plus rising death rates from heroin use.
As part of our mission to boost people’s ability to live a good life, the Community Foundation of Harford County is focusing on the need to help individuals make healthy choices about substance use. This means not only avoiding drugs such as heroin, but also responsible alcohol use, not smoking and not misusing prescription pain medications.
Through its ongoing donor support and grant-making, the Foundation provides support to area non-profit organizations.
