             Bel Air, Md., January 20, 2016 -- Community Foundation of Harford County President Benny Walker today announced that Tamara W. Zavislan, executive director of the nonprofit for more than six years, is stepping down this week to become development director for the Homeless Persons Representation Project in Baltimore.

            "Tami's six-year tenure as executive director of the Community Foundation of Harford County has seen the organization grow from its infancy to its current status as a fully functioning community foundation with more than 40 active funds and nearly $1 million in assets under management," Walker said. "Tami's leadership has positioned the  Community Foundation of Harford County for continued success and future growth, and we thank her for her efforts in increasing local philanthropic support in Harford County."

            The board of directors of the Community Foundation of Harford County has begun a search for a new executive director. During the transition, the foundation will continue its operations, including asset management and fund financial reporting.

            Founded in 2007, the Community Foundation of Harford County is a nonprofit organization supported by the community through donations, enabling individuals, families and businesses to leave a legacy to benefit the causes that matter on a local level. In 2014, Community Foundation of Harford County received accreditation from the Community Foundations National Standards Board, the nation’s highest honor for philanthropic excellence.
